Kuching Festival visit

Last night, I went to Kuching festival with these 2.

Yes the image is extreamely blurly. Maybe I should really bring a good camera next time.

In my mindset, Kuching Festival is about food, food and more food. But somehow this year's a bit slightly different.

We are greeted by this.... thing.

And the sound came out from its body. Hungry perhaps?

Even though it's Friday the 13th yesterday, a lot of people still came to.... eat.

I'll summarise what's different this year.

1) A lot of stalls selling sausages. A LOT.

2) Got playground for kids.

3) Got a lot of games to win prizes including handphones. Of course the odds are against the players.

Aaaaaaand..... The rest are still the same.

3 of us just hanging around there, looking for "special food", but as misers as we're, we're reluctant to spend money there.

We spent exactly RM5.50 for the food and drinks. We event went for L4D2 session.

What caught our attention last night is these 2 signs.

One says no fishing.

Another says FISH AT YOUR OWN RISK, and someone nearby rends fishing rods.

So, what exactly our government is thinking?

All right! Today I finally got the photos they took during the visitings and hang-outs.

You guys might have seen these faster on Facebook.

So here are some of the photos.

These are the first batch of people who went back to primary school. We DID brought the camera, only to forgot to take pictures with it. Sad.

The week after that, the second batch (and some from the first batch who got nothing better to do, I think) went back and visit the second time.

This time we met more teachers, and managed to talk to them more.

And there were some awkwark moments like....

We celebrated quite some people's birthday, but since I can only get my hands on these pictures then I just blog about Jane's birthday la.

We baked a cake for her. It cracked in the middle, unintentionally. Sad.

Fortunately enough, the cake tasted awesome. Baked by Timothy and Johnston.

Earlier that night, we ate steamboat together. Since Sharon can't make it, we decided to do the "cake slicing ceremony" at Sharon's house.

Before singing the birhtday song, we were relax and jolly around.
When the time to sing the birthday song, all of us became awfully awkward.

Had so much fun with all the friends I met. Too bad I can't gather the rest of the 55 classmates back here.

EPIC FAIL

Summarization

Did a lot of things during the holidays, but since I don't always carry a camera around with me, I thought that it's quite pointless to blog about things I done.

Therefore, I would just summarize what I've done during the holidays lo...

1. Baked cheese cakes XD. Oreo cheese cake and Chiffon Cheese cake.

2. Went to play badminton LOTS of time. Weight still climbing up T_T

3. Went back to visit primary school. Twice. Ask them to brought camera but forgot to take pictures.

4. Celebrated birthdays. It seems that my friends love to choose July to born. Missed Timothy's birthday though......

5. Played games. Lots of games.

6. Went lim teh, eat breakfast with friends etc etc etc.....

7. And all the other normal things I did.

Maybe should really start to plan ahead what to do in my life. Got mixed feelings inside me when my friends started to have boyfriend/girlfriend.

Anyway, it's a good thing that I passed all my subjects this semester. Even though didn't hit the "phone changing target"(2 or more Distinction or high distinction), it's a good thing that I passed.

Complaints about Everrise and H&L supermarket

I am very very very angry today.

Today, I went to buy a light bulb at H&L BDC, the staffs apparently is too ignorant to help me get the light bulb out of the locked shelf. Note this, staffS. Plural.

Frustrated, I went to Everrise instead to buy the light bulb. The same thing happened. When I looked at them they simply "fake fake" count stock and ignore me. They have time to flirt with each other but to notice me. I was thinking wanna smash the glass for their attention already.

I have to go to the counter to tell the cashier that I want to buy a light bulb.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SERVE THE CUSTOMER, DON'T LOCK THE SHELF LAH!!!! IF NOT DON'T SELL LIGHT BULBS LAH!!!!!

It seems that after Boulevard and Spring threat has subsided the customer service quality became really bad.

Or maybe Everrise already became too high and mighty to serve a customer buying a light bulb?

I have sent a complaint e-mail to them, but I highly doubt that they will read it.

After all, they are HIGH AND MIGHTY

What a heavy week!!!!

And next week is the final exam, and yet I don't have time to do any revision.

Yes I need to do revision. It's unlike the secondary school days that I don't do revision one. Here I pay. RM2000 per subject. Every semester. *Vomit blood and die*

Anyway I'm doing 3d Animation (heavy workload, haven't done for final presentation), SPPM (dunno what is it about, felt like throwing money into the river), Object Oriented in C++(which I failed last sem T_T) and LAN(which is a FREAKIN FREAKIN HEACY WORKLOAD AND FREAKIN LOTS OF EXAMS).

Here are some progression of mine and Kurapica in 3D. Apparently I can't get my hands on the work of the others.

Since I'm pretty obsessed with cell-shaded games like Okami and Naruto, I tried my hands on to cell shade her work.

New Year 2010

Yeap it's a bit too late to say that but.... Happy (belated) New Year everyone!!!

This year's new year starts great. Felt very accomplished *feeling hawlian*

Spent the countdown with these 3 pretty ladies....

... as the only guy.

Felt so lucky to be still single XD

We drank 7 Up to celebrate the countdown.

~~No alchohol, so there's nothing wrong happened~~

Brainstormed some new year resolution with the girls and thought of something.

Then we drew it on a piece of paper.

Ugh... My ugly drawing...

Sent them home and went home after that...

After getting 2 hours of sleep, went to the morning prayer session, here comes the main event of the year.

MOUNT SANTUBONG!!!

From the energy of 2 hours sleeptime, a packet duck noodle and a cup of Vico, supplied with 1.5litre of water, 2x 1.5 litre of 100 plus, 2 packet of snacks, I made it to the top of the mountain once more!

The rest of the team also made it! The success rate of this climb is 100%!

But we spent a total of 10 hours to accomplish that.

Some of us became too "high" on the top of the mountain.

There are 2 girls climbed with us and they made it too! Jing Jing was one of them.

It was a great experience for the new year. Felt so accomplished this year.

Therefore, to add to my new year's resolution list:

Went to a camp in Lundu on Monday. The theme is 67289.

Why 67289? These the are meanings to these numbers.
6 - The 6 days of God's creations
7 - The 7 sins that God hate
2 - The 2 houses
8 - The 8 Beatitudes
9 - The 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit

Since the camp is located in Lundu and we have to gather in Bau, we have to depart really really early in the morning.

As we joined the others in Bau, once again we departed in the bus.

The weather is nice that day. The sun shined brightly in the sky.

And I found out how civilized Bau people is. They don't just throw rubbish. They put it down too...

The weather makes me wanted to go to climb mountain instead...

Upon arrival, we are welcomed by the awesomeness of mother nature....

...with abundant durian trees and all-we-can-eat durians!

The place we gather around is simple, sufficient for just the few of us.

You see? No air-cond, no water, got a lot of bugs somemore. Mosquitoes especially.

The place we slept in is even simpler. Also no air-cond. The toilet cannot even be flushed.

And we have to get water from the river to clean up the place.

Got pipe water lah actually.

Meet Pastor Ha and the president of this camp. They have done looooooooooots of things to make this camp a success.

In this camp we don't just hang around with nothing to do.

They have prepared programs for us to enjoy this camp.

All the campers are surprisingly obidient. They all participated in all the programs.

And of course, during some games, when you "lose", some punishments have to be expected.

For example these 3 guys here. They have "lose" a game and have to be punished.

What kind of punishment?

You think for yourself lah XD

They even gave us some assignments to do.

Drawing this and that, do this and that.

And there was praise and worship too. Let by the Bau church people. Very very very high.

The food are good. There are 2 aunties that cook especially for us campers.

The first day we had beehoon,

See, how good they treated us!

The food is so good that I ate more than my normal portion. That is part of the reason lah.

The other reason is the president is persuasive....

The president serve you, how can you say no?

If I reject maybe I can't come back home already...

The durians are here.... They don't look appetizing.

The morning exercise is.....

...normal.

Until it started to rain...

The downpour has ruined out morning exercise. But the creativeness of Bau people have solved the problem once again.

They decided to do the exercise indoor. LOL

There are a lot of other games to be played. See we play until wet wet...

.... we even played sketches. The other team have a 13 year old director who can write storylines and plots.

The organising committee is very considerate. They gave us a long rest time to do whatever we like. Everyone loves free time!

Some went swimming, and other went to play soccer or volleyball, or just act like a statue at a corner there like me...

See how the girls express their happiness.
It's a good experience really. We eat good, sleep good, bath good, play good. Everything is good. I even found some interesting things during the camp.

1) We got Backham and Ballack in our camp. If you don't know them, google it.

2) The multi-lingual medicine box. Maybe they are influenced by Najib's 1Malaysia concept... ... in the wrong way.

This is a great experience. It have been so long since I enjoyed a camp like this.

By the way, I still want to climb mountain!

Today, I went to climb the infamous Santubong Mountain...

As usual, I didn't bring a camera with me, so only these low quality photo taken using the fake Iphone can show the summit of the mountain...

It's foggy when we got the the summit. The air is good, and there is a monkey that followed us all the way up from the middle to the top, and followed us back to the middle.

Out of 18 people who went to challenged, only 7 reached the top.

It's sad because some are tired, some feel sick, and even a kid went with us(of course she can't make it too).

Good experience. So next time, Johnny, Alan, Kwong and Daniel, we go climb also!

Total time spent = 3 hours 30 mins going up + 2 hours 30 mins down

Worth it!!!

Now I need to sleep. My body is breaking apart....

Something to catch up with

It has been a few weeks since I updated my blog.

Since holidays, my daily routine is like sleep-eat-maple-sleep-eat-maple...

So there is little point to blog like "Yay I finally reached 3rd job" or such.

Furthermore I have been using Twitter, so I can update it with less than 140 characters or less...
So, in conclusion, I did nothing special during the whole 1 month holiday, therefore nothing to blog about.

But once in a blue moon, I would do something I won't normally do.

First of all, I have to wake up freakinly early. It's hard to do that since I am mapling till 3am almost everyday.

Have to wake up early to go to jog bah... See, I told you it's unusual.

The very last time I went before this semester start is when it's freakinly hazy in Kuching.

The haze makes me feel lazy and made morning look like evening.

Luckily enough, I didn't just go jogging at some random park at roadside.

I went to Stutong Park, one of the place that still have a lot of trees in Kuching.

By paying a small price of 50 cents, I can wander around a much as I like.

The haze didn't seem to have "invaded" the forest yet, and there is a fresh scent of oxygen everywhere.

It really helped me to relax after long hours of mapling.

The place is nature, so expect some wild animals too.

Along the path, we saw a monkey.

And another one.

And more monkeys...

Before long we were surrounded by monkeys. There is even one which is growling at us.

Luckily me managed to get out unharmed. If not I'll sue the monkeys.

After gotten out from the forest, the first thing that came to my mind is not "Yes! I've finished!" but "Damn. It's the haze again."

Apparently my nose got use to the fresh air inside. The haze smell like burning smoke for the first few seconds.

Nevermind. This was a few weeks ago. These few days rained like wanna banjir already. The haze is long gone.

There is no meaning going to Stutong Park without going for a walk on the reflexology path.

The path can be hellish for those who had a lot of toxic in their body.

It's better to walk on your own risk. It's really a torture for a meat-eater like me.

After everything that was done, it's always a good idea to ~~waste the effort of the jog~~ replenish the calories the our body lose.

This time, we went to a place called Foody-Goody, where is famous of the pondan, laksa and you-zha-kueh.

Mrs. Lau bought a... container of lik-tou-tang and demo how should we eat the you-zha-kueh and such.
I don't want to make my soya bean drink oily, so what I did is....

.... putting the you-zha-kueh into my bowl of laksa.

~~Last night~~ 2 nights ago I went to Pizza Huts for pizza.

Being famous for my stingy attitude as a miser, it's a really rare occasion to go to pizza huts for dinner unless people treat me for it.

Of course lah, that night it's not me who pay lah.

And another reason for it.

It says 20% off for 1 Regular A'la Carte Pan Pizza. The other 1 is for large.

It's really a good deal, considering cut off a grand total of 5% of the pizza if counted the government tax and service charge.

Upon arrival, I showed the waitress the tickets.

Waitress:"Sorry, our computer can't process the 20% discount coupon. So cannot use la"

Screw the programmer!

Ok, nevermind. I was still calm that time. Was...

When we finally made up our mind, we decided to make our order.

Something even more epic happened. Even the word "epic" is not enough to describe it actually.

Me: We would like to have 2 regular pan pizzas(Regular coupon work right)

Waitress: Sorry, regular pizza finish already.

Me: ???

Waitress: No more regular, only personal and large pizzas are available.

Me:.......

It's like "Welcome to KFC and we don't have chicken at the moment. We got cow and lamb meat lah."

I was thinking to leave at the moment already, but the rest say just eat lah...

Out of frustration, I....

Me: One large Hawaiian Supreme pan pizza. That's all.

Waitress: That's all?

Me: Yes that's all.

Waitress: Only that?

Me: .... yes.

Waitress: Drinks?

Me: No need. Just pizza.

Sis: ........... Call drink la. 1 jug.

Waitress: Ok

Me:......

And we waited a long time for the pizza to arrive also.

We even rolled something around to kill the time.

Eventually, the blardy pizza came out...

In the end, we ate a large pizza with original price. Paid with full blardy price.

It was a great business tactic actually, to do such kind of things.

No wonder H&L are willing to give SO MANY discount coupons just for 2 times purchase there.

30 Hour Of Famine Kuching 2009

*This is a VERY late post, which should be done about.... last week...

About 2 weeks ago, I went to the 30 Hour of Famine at.... Kuching.
The fumdamental of this event is not to eat any solid food and drink anything else other than mineral water for whole 30 hours.

Of course, there will be a lot of activities to help the campers to "forget" the starvation they are facing...
So, first we went to register ourselves...
And we're divided into groups.

Did I said the campers who joined is more than 500 people?

The oldest is 67 years old, and the youngest is 6 years old.

A salute to both of them!

And JACKPOT!!!

I've gotten the 1st group... Yay...More and more people came when the clock ticks closer to 12pm.

Maybe they're having their last bowl of laksa or kolomee....

Eat before 11:30 am huh...

Well... 30 hours isn't a short time itself. Might needed to prepare ~~my tummy~~ physically and mentally for it...

The hall is crowded when almost everyone arrives... Time to take on the 30 hour famine challenge!!!!

Even the MCs, William and Jolin(not the Taiwanese singer), are getting themselves prepared to be on stage.

Be reminded the staffs there will also facing 30 hours of hunger just like the campers... And the volunteer and security too...

I wonder is the security team strong enough to act when danger arises?

Ok they will manage...

William and Jolin started the event with great humour and hype.

The crowds are having great confidence in facing this challenge!

Of course, we had ice-breaking as soon as the camp started...

1st, we played pretending to become some super heroes....

This version of Superman is the older version as they are using manual gear shifting.... Time to change to automatic transmission lo!!!

The games are ok, really.

Just sometimes lazyness strikes and.... just don't feel want to join...

This guys is punished to do catwalk with William because he did something wrong, I think...

But later he got the privilege to walk the lane with Jolin!

What lucky guy...

As part of the ice-breaking, we did some human-wave...

Reminds me of Merdeka event a few years ago....

Ok, (almost) 1 hour have passed... 29 to go...

Apparantly there is going to be a VERY VERY IMPORTANT PERSON coming to the camp site...

So important until...

...they have to change the MCs to ANOTHER new pair of MC in suits...

And we even trained how to clap nicely to welcome the VVIP. LOL

So, when the VVIP come, we clapped like instructed and.... lol

It's YB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Datuk Chan(hope that I'm not mistaken...)!!!

And also other VIPs la, but too many of them until I cannot post it here...

When the VIPs are giving speech (there are a lot of them) the campers started to look like this...

Low battery already....

By the end of the speeches, we are took oath to tried our best in the camp...

And we are entertain by a dance performance...

They were dancing Chinese dance with ribbons... But....
... isn't it weird to see guys dancing with ribbons too O_o

After EVERYTHING had done, it's already 2:30 pm...

27 hours and 30 minutes to go. Yay...

Next up is the Famine Challenge.

We will be put into a simulation of being a refugee of an earthquake. Teams are divided into families and different roles are given like father, mother, brother etc etc...

We have to try to earn money trying to survive...

So we rushed to the ONLY counter that gives survial kits for our "family"....

Imagine 500 people rushing to a tight hall... It was really uncomfortable to sqeeze in place so many people...

We are told that in reality, there are thousands who "queue" up like this in disaster areas...

We have to build up our own shelter....

Using the "survival kits" supplied by the "government"...

We have to queue up for vaccination...

We have to work to earn money....

Money is scarce at that time... A lot of people queue up but didn't get a job to help their family...
Some even do illegal stuffs (and some are caught by the "mata") to earn money...

The whole simulation was hard and demanding, and my family can't really survive it...

Anyway time flies during the game...

Less than 24 hours to freedom!!!

After that we have a short break... And I found this...

I have no idea how I spotted this....

Anyway after the free time, they have poverty quiz for the winners of the famine challenge and some stars...

They can play the quiz with teams divided to team Danell, team Francissca and team Jolin (she is as a celebrity you know!)

No this wasn't taken after the quiz.... It's before....

For your information, his team ate dust in the quiz... Sad.

Shortly after the quiz, they prepared a lot of entertainment for the long long night...

The night is still young, right?

1st of all, Fransicca Peter sings.

She totally blew the roof of the campsite!

The crowd became so high till I think they forgot why they are there...

They are even willing to use up the "reserved batteries".... Haha.

After the incredible concert by Francissca, we are entertained next by....

...a group of belly dancers from Studio 23...

That.... surely changed the mood...

Dunno what to say, but the organizers sure have a weird taste of sorting the programs...

Next we got overseas SUPERSTARS to give us moral support to continue on the camp...

Then Evanstarr performed....

Then 2 guys performed yoga.... YOGA!!!! on the stage....

They sure have succeeded to calm the crowd...

THEN!!!! (Sorry, I am also started to feel sleepy typing these...)

They added a blast to the performance...

A secret technique learned from China, this 8 year old kid performed "Face-Change".

The crowd sudddenly woke up from their hibernation...

Incredible isn't it?

Then the girls from Studio 23 came out for performance again...

With a different type of dance.... Even later they got use chairs as props...

After that (now you see why I told you that there are a LOT of programmes...) the kid (again) performed another thing to blew the minds of the crowd...

Is this stance familiar?

What a kid. He sure have a lot of admirers when he grows up...

Apparently 2 campers are asked to go up the stage to mimic him...

...and failed miserably....

Aiyo, now he'll get most of the girls in the future!

Soulcatcherz performed... Nothing much to say about this really...

Then finally, Danell's turn...

He was supposed to be the highlight of the show, but sadly, he came out waaaaaaaaaaaay too late, about 11pm...

The hype wasn't kept anymore and the crowd was not so high...

Finally it's time for bed. We slept like refugees too...

Forgive my shaky hands... 12 hours didn't eat anything... Haha...

The first thing to do after bed (aside from going to toilet, comb hair etc etc), the morning exercise is compromised of doing yoga...

I didn't even know that the others are doing more normal exercise outside the hall -__-

It's Sunday after all, so Christians have their mass next.

Too bad Soon Eng played the wrong tune... Must be the effect of hunger...

They even gives offering for the sake of the kids out there...

Next, another famine challenge!!!

This time we have to make stars out newspaper to sell to earn money too...

The market need is always changing, varying the star size of 2cm and 3 cm.... When there are a lot of people sold it, the price drop so rapidly that making these stars seemed hopeless...
A lot of wasted efforts.....

And the people of India is facing this, everyday...

How you think they can survive like this?

After that, we're shown with a movie entitled "Turtles can fly"

This is a movie made by an Iranian director, and filmed at the exact place of Iraq refugee lives before US attacks...

A very nice movie, which I highly recommend to everyone....

The kids make living by collecting land mines at the fields... I mistake and it's BOOOOMMMMM.....

They won't die sometimes, but lost their legs or arms.... And they have to keep on collecting land mines with their mouth....

A really great movie. Watch it, enjoy it...

Later came some guys from different organizations to show what is their mission and what have they done...

Even there is one of them who looked like Bedui there... Lol!

They also invited Pak Tom from Indonesia to share with us his experiences...

And Francissa Peter who went to India to look for her sponsored child...

When the drama team went up for performance, the crowd are already too tired and hungry to have any reaction...

Even when they used incredible technique to do it, the crowd are still.... stingy with their reaction...

Until....

.... a piece of bread appeared on the stage!

The crowd seems like hungry lions woke up from their hibernation, waiting to charge on stage for the poor little bread!!!

The bread went back stage, and the scene continues....

After some scenes, the "lions" went back to hibernation....

Until...

.... a whole bunch of breads appeared on stage!!!

To make things worse, the actors ATE THE BREAD ON THE STAGE TOGETHER!!!!

For a moment, I thought that the security will be needed or else the actors won't leave the stage in one piece...

Sadly enough, the climax of the drama in the eyes of the campers is.... the bread...

It's already the 26th hour... 4...... more...... to............ go...

Then we cleaned up the place, gather some more, and more campers share their thoughts and ideas about the 30 Hour of Famine, it's finally time for.....

The countdown!

The organizing committee went on stage and sang the theme song of the camp, "Tomorrow".

The scene was great, unable to describe in words...

We even have countdown to mark we survived the 30 Hour of Famine!!!

I could have been the greatest countdown in my life.... Some of the campers even eat the food right after the countdown...

We are given a bread (the main character form the drama), a Yeo's soya bean (maybe the beans provided by Jing Jing), and a packet of oat....

Maybe they expect we to put the oat into our mouths and drink a lot of water....

But, I really saw someone eating the oat....

In overall, the camp is very tiring...

But it's a worthy experience, really....

Seeing things from another prespective, knowing more things...

It's some great lifetime experience...

If there is another one next year in Kuching, I'll definitely be there assuming I have the chance...
Please do ignore the guy with freaky grin in yellow shirt....

A really worthy experience that can't be describe in words... You'll just have to experience it yourself....

We have been together all these years, and she has accompanied me through harsh and sweet times.

Went visiting for the past few days...

Most of them are spontaneous, which is quite unexpected, unplanned and incredibly time consuming....

For example, we went to Su Chern's house at the 1st day, and continue on "raiding" other people's houses...

At the beginning, there are only 4 of us( Aurelia, Jing Jing, Ek Guan, me...) went.

Then Yen ~~Pini~~ Pin and Jonathan came join us.

Athe the 2nd day I went visiting with my sisters. I should make it a habit to bring a camera wherever I go....

3rd day also surprise visiting with Sharon., Chin Lin and Kwong them....

At night we went to our teacher's house to raid it again....

Some of them are bombarded by a series of questions that is the same as a few years ago... The 4th day is incredibly...energy consuming...

It rained for the whole day and some areas are flooded. And we got wet getting from our car to another...

Thank God that I'm not HOT enough to get a fever.

Also worn the LOL shirt... We were "put aeroplane" by our friends who are expected to wear also...

5th day doing nothing, Weiling them got come and play metal slug...

Jacq happened to follow them for some reasons...

Today.... was supposed to go laser tag, but it's closed for some function.... What a waste of petrol...

Then we went for bowling... And had kueh chap, kam pua, cow noodles for lim teh...

Christmas Drama Combo

I was supposed to post this last year...

At first, I don't want to post it due to spoilers, but after that I became lazy...

Well, my church combined with Sg. Maong Methodist Church and Chin Daw Methodist Church for a joint drama show at Boulevard, Stampin Resettlement Centre(the so called 8 point land, 八点地） and Sg. Maong Methodist Church itself.

Everyone really put a lot of efforts in it.

Recording since the last 3 months, and the practices are daily since December.

I am Snowman that went through diet! I can wear shirt!

Even at the day of the show itself, preparations are still like last minute and things are getting tense.

But thank God that people came and God gave us nice weather that night and another night at Stampin Resettlement Centre...

The show went nicely through the night.

We're got served as appetizers by having a choir team of Boulevard themselves.
I mean, a choir team from Boulevard?

What a team!

The title of the drama is "The Window that Foresees Truth".

They even made a window to illustrate it.

There is a dance before the drama really started.

And they went through hell to practice it.

In the drama there were angels who proclaim the Good News...

And the devils who wanted to crush God's plans...

Inside the drama there were people who tried to con people...
And celebrate after it.

I particularly love this part here, noticing how the guy at the right screaming yam seng. He was the lead actor of the movie.

And there is a scene of lovers too. To be exact it's a scene of extramarital affairs of the woman. Scary...

I was supposed to be the one who is laying on her lap, but due to some conditions, I was replaced by that guy.

My bad then.

The show went on without any problems.

It's all thanks to God that it was a huge success after all.

With a group of 70+ actors and 10+(included me) backstage workers(yeah I'm backstage), we all worked so hard to complete it.

This girl here is the lead actor in the drama. Her name is Lydia... She really is a natural actor.

In fact, so much that I heard she scare someone in a camp recently... LOL

Anyways the character ended up in hell...

This guy here is another lead actor of the drama. His role is the "husband" of Lydia and the taukeh of the swindlers.

In the end he went to hell also la...

This guy here is the other lead actor. He is the adopted son of the taukeh and having relation with the taukeh's wife.

Very complicated indeed. Ended in hell.
Looks like he's also facing the aftermath of the drama....

Another selling point of the drama is the make up of the devils.

They spent a lot of efforts(and money) to make the devils look.... scary...

For example, this girl here. She is called ET and she was Daniel's "wife" last year in Life Game....

And they made her this....

Eek....

To become this!

Of course the effect wasn't great if seen from afar...

What do you expect, I was controlling the PA there and I could only see from faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away back then.

The angels are nice also, but they're just plain.

They all look almost the same but they really looked elegant dancing around the stage.

But some make ups are....well....umm....*cough*horrible*cough*...

And for some odd reasons, this guy reminds me of a character from Final Fantasy 8. I can't remember the character but he does resemble that guy from the game.

As for Satan....

This is the Boulevard version.

Some says that he is not as cool as Devil A, so they improved him at the show at Sg. Maong Methodist Church.

A lot better...

They really had hard time drinking with the make up...

I know it was a "belated post" but anyways....

This year at Kuching we have caroling again.

We walked the same route as last year, but things are different now....

This year I didn't saw Sharon and also Jing Jing. No sight of Lung Wei and Ngee Ting also...

Jing Jing is spending her Christmas overseas this year... And by overseas it's over the South China Sea...

Maybe it's the aftermath of being a "big blind man" for the past 45 days...

Anyways I met my NEW friends that I made this year like...

Ding Yi and Ah Sung...

And also Soon Eng...

Time sure changes things, I tell you.

We gathered at the same place as last year too...

At the gathering there, we can see that it's "people mountain people sea"...

... and even "car mountain car sea"!!!

The good thing about this caroling is that God gave us good weather for this event.

It has been raining almost every night, but God had gave us non-rainy nights on the crutial nights.

2 for drama(which I'll post it when.... I'm free >.<) and one for this caroling event. Man, God surely is awesome.
After some preparation, we are ready to move.

Armed by my trusty 365-days-old candle, which I used last year, I started the caroling.

All went smooth, noone went missing, and I even have a group of people singing Malay Christmas song behind me.

As anticipated, we took the same route as last year, finding there are even more people watching than last year.

There are some "flower cars"(I don't know what it is in English) but I didn't really came across them...

It's really a sad thing, since most of them are really pretty...

Except for this one, a miniature version of Chin Kwong Methodist Church.

And it's MOBILE!!!!

Along the journey my trusty candle fails me, forcing me to stick another one in it....

...and fail me furthur....

This is due to the wax is too "liquidfy" and made it unable to support the new candle also...

It won't hold it, no matter what...

Therefore I ditch my ex-trusty-365-days-old candle away in the middle of the journey.

*mumble*Maybe that's another reason why I didn't have a girlfriend....*mumble*

Thanks to God that we safely completed the caroling. It's great to caroling with my dear friends too...

And add a bottle of 100 plus to it. XD

Christmas Concert 2008

I should have updated this last week...

I was sooooo busy over the last week that I hardly even had any time for myself...

But I got a chance to enjoy myself in a concert last Monday.

It happens that I actually have 2 tickets for the concert but I went alone that night.

~~I didn't bring along a girl because I didn't wash my car.~~

Coincidentally, that place used is the same place as the one used at Moody's night.

MORE coincidentally, they used the same MC too...

Kuching must be lack of capable MCs...

As I was getting bored of waiting it to start, suddenly I was shocked when a bunch some dancers ran out of nowhere....

... and one of them ran into someone....

What an opening for a concert. It's like:
1) ON THE MUSIC!!!!
2)RUUUUUUUUUUNNN!!!
3)DANCE ON STAGE!!!!

After the incredible long "intro", the choir team finally make its appearance...

...on the stage foe about 5 to 10 mins, standing there...

I was like "Walaupiangeh... Faster liaw..."

It seems that I am the only one that has no sense of music/art in the whole room.

After singing a few songs, the dancers again go on the stage to perform... again...

With a different set of clothes...

Along with the concert, we are also entertained by a few slideshows...

It's more to information than entertainment, of course...

The whole night is about songs...

dances....

And more songs and dances....

... with some actings too...

The organizers sure loves to shock people... Even the Santa Clauses came from nowhere to give candies...

It's a memorable night (aside from the shocks). I even got the chance to sing "Christmas Tree"...

And I will try to wash my car more often...

It have been ages since I went to stay a night at Santubong...No I don't mean in the mountains, but at the resort...

I went there with some of my friends from the church to spend a night there.

For some reasons, they seems to be hype up due to the trip too.

And they're warming up themselves already even before the journey starts...

Upon arrival, we are greeted by some artistic artifacts that looked... well... artistic.

For example this thing here.Frankly that thing over there give me a shock, since I only found out its existance during nighttime.

I must been day dreaming for the whole day...Since Christmas is near, the lobby is decorated in a kind of Iban-Christmas fusion.

It feels quite Christmas with all the cloths hanging around the lobby like that, so if you, whose situation is like Jacq who didn't feel Christmas, go Santubong XD

There is a quite tall snowman(that is not made from snow...) and a freaky Santa Clause standing at the lobby over there.You'll notice that the Santa was looking at the ceiling, and maybe that's what makes it weird?

Or it's made to mimic this guy over here, or capturing his singing style?

And yes, when this guys sings, he looks at the ceiling too... LOLJust beside the tall snowman and the Yu-Ching-Santa, there is the trademark of Sarawak, the longhouse...

On the way to the room after checked in, I came across an epic sign....

Of course when we went to Santubong, we don't want to miss the beach right?

I can directly see the beach from my room there. It's a nice view.

On the way to the beach, I managed to help my friends take some photos...

And trying to become an artistic person too....

Ok maybe I shouldn't even hold the camera. It's a disgrace >.<

This couple is going to walk the red carpet by the end of this month, and they tried to mimic the photos taken.

How can I even compare to that?

The beach activities are fun too and they decided to go for the waves.

I should have spend time to build my own sand castle...

The other activity is to secretly spy on someone and write ~~REALLY BAD~~ good things about them the very next day...

She lost her spectacles in the sea, serious....

With her near-sight reaching beyond 500 degrees, she is practically blind...

When going for a trip, what is one of the most important factor?

FOOD!!!

Well, since cooking is not allowed, we go outside to eat.

We went to a restaurant somewhere near the beach for dinner and lunch of the second day.

To out surprise, the restaurant also have it's own fusion style too.

It's was playing Christmas song...

...and decorated with Chinese lanterns...

People nowadays love to mix things together, aren't they.

I thought I am the wolf among the group, but they seemed "wolfier" than me.

Look what they did to the dish before I could have to have the chance to take a picture of it... ~~Even though some of it is already inside my belly....~~

Being far away from the city got its own attraction. You can do things here that you can't in the city...

For example riding at the back of the truck without worry to be caught by the police...
Or becoming a Mat Rempit yourself...

Another shocking announcement was made later at night...

These two will be engaged at the end of the month...

Man there are a lot of couples getting together lately, and I'm still single!

There is another lame thing that happened during lunch the next day...

For some reasons these two guys got a phone call, went to the "bridge" to answer the phone, and end up talking to eat other.

There is a gathering today afternoon at 3rd mile Mc Donalds...

Aurelia and Jing Jing didn't make it, as they are seperated by the South China Sea.

Johnny didn't make it due to meeting...

Catharine didn't make it due to her finals...

Chin Lin didn't make it because she is sick...

Alan didn't make it..... Because he just didn't show up even after he said "ok"...

Actually it's a gathering just to see that our friends are alive and well...

So at the beginning....
They were bored... Maybe they expect some programme is prepared by us or whatsoever...
Some of them started to ~~grab~~ buy something to eat...
Started to chit chat stuffs like ~~who's-your-boyfriend~~ university life maybe...
These guys also made it and joined in...
And the whole afternoon is chit-chat, chit-chat and MORE chit-chat....

And eat, then eat, after that EAT again...

I know it's terrible... Maybe I should not hold the camera...

The whole activity is just eating and talking.

It's actually quite fun to gather everyone around and see how are they doing.

Got addicted to an old game recently.

I got my hands on this game a few years ago, yet suddenly for some unknown reasons it came back to my head a few weeks ago...

This game is called Little Fighter 2, and it's made in 1999.

It will celebrate 10 years old next year!

Camp In Rajah Court

This Raya I done something unique. Really.

I went to a camp in Rajah Court.

The most of the time was spent in the church besides it actually. Sorry Alan, no curry with you this Raya.

The theme of the camp this year is "Who Are Willing?"(literally translated). Before I proceed, let's have a look at the opening ceremony.

I can't even know the name of ~~most~~ some people I know, what to say people I don't know!

For me it's a mental torture...

Anyways, let's continue ~~without saying my weaknesses~~.....

See how cramped the place is. This is when we play mini-game. A mini room + mini game + 100 more people = Tuna game...

There are a lot of programmes. For example this:

And we're complaining 8 am is too early to get up.

"PEOPLE NOWADAYS DON'T HAVE MORNING!" he said. True, most people woke up at noon nowadays.

Besides the 5:15am session, the camp itself actually have another prayer session.

And most people are "fishing" during that session.

This female pastor here are showing us some tricks...

Quite some effort she put in it, too bad the time alloted to her is too short.

In the 2 days 2 night camp, we are suppose to secretly care for another camper.

Secretly, meaning not letting them know. It's Mission: Little Angle.

I didn't prepared for it, so I didn't prepare for it...

WHAT THE HECK! THEY EVEN PREPARED THE GIFTS SOLD TO THE "ANGLES"!!!

I felt fake. Very fake...

But when I think of it, I am even more heartless if I didn't even buy anything as a gift even though it's prepared.

At the end of the day, I bought a 100Plus for her. ~~Almost killed by her husband at the final day.~~

Owh, the people went to this camp is 18 to 28 years old, so some are already married(or prepare to marry).

There is a lot of entertainment too.

This group here is punished for being late, and they are dancing the "Banana Dance".

During free time, some people went swimming.

This is a counter-post against Daniel-Ng's-Japanese-Buffet-Assault.

I don't have the luxury to spend the whole RM68 for a meal.

I'm only a kopitiam standard people ~~unless got people chia me eat~~.

Now I haw-lian Kuching's food la.

These food aren't what you'll see in Kuching-fest every year.

Featuring Johnny's left and right hand...

First of all it's called kolo-mee.

It's dry, it's kolo, it's mee, it's KOLOMEE.

Indulged in hot oil, a little bit bawang added, this bundle of boiling-point-water-cooked-noodle(or mee) sure won the hearts of Kuching folks for many many many years.

Add a few slices of pork in there, and this babe is ready to feed hungry folks.

You can put in char-siew oil in there, to furthur upgrade the taste. It's a must for a Kuching people to know kolomee.

Next up is what we call Kueh-chap.

This is a real deal. ~~Wolves~~ Meat lovers out there would love this a lot.

The soup is cooked using herbs, and a few of the "thing" that looks(and tasted) like Kueh-tiaw in the soup is what we call "kosong".

The thing is the rest of the ingredients eggs, tauhus, pork and...... the intestines...

Hey it tasted great I tell you.

You can't really eat it anywhere in the world, really.

Kueh-chap is a gem of Malaysia(maybe). US no Kueh-chap.

A must try in Kuching also.

People nowadays love to combine things with this and that...

We can see that from the example of handphones and cameras.

Well, who is the genius that thought of that?

Apparently there is a lot of combined things lately...

The dinner tonight was special, specially "combined" by my grandmother.

For the first start,

We have ikan-bilis...

It realy don't look like ikan-bilis right now due to my lack of skills in photography, but trust me, it's really ikan bilis...

Most of you might already know it, but I'll stat it anyway... Ikan bilis is eaten by the Malays.

Next up, we have some kind of salted vegetables, and it's... fried?

I sure don't know how to explain this one but it's from the Chinese dishes...

And of course, white rice, loved by the Chinese and locals...

The main dish of the night is FRENCH FRIES and HOTDOGS(or is it sausages?)! Western food it is!

After the fateful night about 2 months ago, it's finally back.

After that incident, my family has always been aware of lightning strikes.

This babe is not newly bought.

It's claimed with warranty.

Surely, you guys might wonder that how to claim a warranty, since lightning strikes doesn't included struck by lightning.

Well, the catch is, if the papers won't help, why not try the box instead?

Sometimes the box might give clues about things that you'll never know...

The thing special in this box is...

It says:"Warranty inclusive of damage by lightning strike."

Got it? INCLUSIVE!!! LIGHTNING STRIKE!!!

It took 2 months to get it back, but it's worth the time(without spending money for new one, of course).

So, people, after all, prevention is better than cure.

I don't want it go be away for 2 more months.

Revolution Of Dance!

I'm not a dancer myself, so this is not a very "pro" entry.

We all know that dancing is a way to interact, to express oneself, or even represent a culture itself.

So, in the beginning, there was tribal dance.
No, they don't used to dance in the urban areas. And of course they don't usually dance in front of Rolex shop too.

This is a type of dance to represent a culture.

The Western culture has a set of dance themselves. For Example:

Waltz...

Don't complaint about her looks...

Tango...

And much more...

The dances are still popular nowadays, and a lot people still learning it and interact in GRAND parties...

And we Chinese has a lot of traditional dances itself...Enough about the traditional dances (sorry to categorize Tango and Waltz as "traditional"), let's move on to the modern dances.

Recent years I heard about a type of new dance called "Shuffle". It's a dance that used in disco(I think). Try search in Youtube for more information...Personally I think that "shuffling" itself is a very weird stuff. Especially that seeing my brother's friend trying so hard to "shuffle".

Let's get on to the more popular ones.

For example hip-hop has appeared for quite a long time. I don't have much information about that.

As a derivation from hip-hop, we now have breakdance.Breakdancing is a dance originated of the streets(I think >.<) and it had made it's way to the stage.

Nowadays they even have The Battle Of The Year for Bboys(the "pro" breakdancers) which have competition INTERNATIONALLY.

How cool that will be?

Who knows that it will make it to the Olympics one day?

Anyways this is a sample of what can they do...

2 days orientation ends today...

Felt quite crappy it is.

True.

Even the ice-breaking itself made the whole event even more colder than ever.... I thought that ice-breaking's purpose is to spice up the whole event, not to make it even colder.

It felt like a polar bear that plucked out all it's fur.

Oh well, I should stop lamenting about the orientation and start to move forward.

Class starts on Monday, and I'm looking forward to it.

To avoid people recognize me out, I will be wearing a mask to school everyday!

I went to Kuching festival last night.

It's a celebration of Kuching City itself(obviously).

For you Kuchinites out there I'll say that this year's Kuching fest is just like the pass years.

Same food, same events, same great taste of Kuching itself.

I didn't bring out my camera due to my spoilt batteries(this also explains these posts lately doesn't have any photos from me myself).

For those in Kuching you should check it out.

Finally I would say something to all the Form 6 2007/2008 students.

Our teachers are wondering where we are right now.

Mr. Chin said:"刚考完试就散掉了。一点消息都没有。”

It means "Right after STPM straaaaaaaaight away missing in action without news".

It seems that we are not as close among ourselves even to the teachers.

Please la guys, when come back got chance go visit teacher in school la. They will be thrilled to see you guys.

Today I completed the registeration.

Still had some minor details to go, but most of them are settled.

Currently preparing my heart for a new life....

I wonder who will fetch my siblings when I went to study.

Of course, I'm still in Kuching. So I might be able to "drink tea" with the ones outside Kuching and came back.

Things are starting to look right.

As a dropout of STPM, I've been struggling to find a place for higher education.

And failed or rejected...

...twice...

On Tuesday I finally received an offer letter(actually I applied for it and they make me one) from a well known college.

Things are looking right at the moment.

Schooling will start soon and I have to do this and that to make sure things won't screw up again. It's troublesome but it's nothing compared to level-up a Maple Story character to level 92...

Today I even got my SSPN card and ANOTHER offer letter from another college.

Guess my 8-months-holiday is going to end.
